LinguaVox is a Chrome browser extension that combines three capabilities in a single keyboard shortcut workflow:

1. **Voice transcription** — converts speech to text using OpenAI Whisper (95%+ accuracy)

Users press a hotkey (default: Ctrl+Space), speak naturally, press Space to stop — the transcribed, translated, and AI-enhanced text is inserted directly into any web input field within 3 seconds.

## About the Creator

LinguaVox was built by Kostiantyn Solovtsov, a Product Manager based in Europe, to solve the personal challenge of writing professional English as a non-native speaker. Launched in 2025. Available on the Chrome Web Store.

## Limitations

- Requires an active internet connection (audio is processed server-side)
- Does not work offline
- Does not support continuous/always-on transcription — recording is manually started with a hotkey and stopped with Space
- Google Docs has limited support due to its canvas-based editor; LinguaVox copies text to clipboard as fallback
- Does not record or transcribe audio in the background
- Requires Chrome browser (Manifest V3 extension; not available for Firefox or Safari)
- Audio must be recorded through the device microphone — cannot transcribe audio playing from speakers or tabs
